2009 Annual Symposium July 16 - 19, St. Charles, Illinois

Join us in St. Charles, Illinois, the Water Gardening Capital of the World, as the IWGS, along with Aquascapes Inc, hosts its 2009 Annual Symposium. This is a special year for the IWGS as it marks the 25th year of its founding!

This year's Symposium will feature:

Tours of the Chicago Botanical Gardens, Ball Horticulture, 2 garden centers specializing in ponds, Aquatic Nursery Tour, and an absolutely amazing Biotope Tour at Elgin Community College
Bonus Pond Tour Day on Sunday- to celebrate our 25th anniversary we have included an extra day of touring, featuring ponds in the St. Charles area at no extra cost!
Education Day - We have four dynamic speakers featuring Mr.Pairat Songpanich from Thailand who created the new blue hardy Waterlily.
Giant Auction featuring rare aquatic plants from around the world, pond supplies and books!
Special 25th Anniversary events during the Symposium and at the Banquet.
Education and Fun! Meet new water gardening friends who share your passion for aquatic plants and ponds! You will meet pondkeepers, growers and hybridizers, and people associated with all aspects of the water gardening industry.
Special Dinner - We will be the guests of Greg and Carla Wittstock at their backyard pond paradise, Aqua Terra. Greg is the co-founder and owner of Aquascape, Inc.
Unique Opportunity - This year our Symposium will run concurrently with the major education and social event called Pondemonium which is sponsored by Aquascape, Inc.. We will have opportunities to meet and exchange ideas with their attendees which will number over 500! This year Aquascapes celebrates its 10th Pondemonium anniversary and we congratulate them! We also want to thank their staff for their valuable assistance in helping us the plan our 2009 IWGS Symposium!
